CIG signals expansion plans with latest board appointment |
Leading publisher and pharmacy training company Communications International Group (CIG) has firmly signalled its intention to expand with its latest director appointment. |
On 15th April 2024 Conor O'Brien has joined the CIG Board as a full-time director. He comes to CIG from US-based Stephens Investment Bank where he worked in the bank's European M&A division. |
Starting his career on the PricewaterhouseCoopers graduate programme, Conor qualified as a Chartered Accountant, before moving to Stephens. Conor worked in both London and Frankfurt, gaining invaluable experience across diverse sectors, including healthcare and consumer markets. |
As well as his finance and investment banking background, Conor has a strong personal connection to CIG. As the son of CIG Chief Executive Felim O'Brien, Conor has had a lifelong association with the business and first-hand knowledge of its operations over two decades. |
After graduating from Durham University, Conor spent a full year working at CIG's London HQ, learning about all aspects of the business. He has also attended many Conferences and Awards events, is known to many of CIG's key clients and helped the team to resolve early-stage challenges with the building of the Pharmacy Network system. |
Conor will be working closely with both Simon McCandlish, the former Boots Commercial Director who joined the CIG Board in February, and former Novartis Consumer Health European Sales Director Michael Wheeldon, who came on board in early 2023. Conor's initial focus will be to improve CIG's internal and external systems, whilst also delivering the company's overall commercial strategy and future product innovation. |
"Conor's return to CIG at a pivotal time for the company underscores his commitment to our independent future and our ambition to expand through non-core business development and acquisitions," said Felim O'Brien. |
"Having witnessed our development at first hand, Conor is hitting the ground running, quickly getting up to speed on the current business, so that he can both help us to improve our operational systems and plan the next phase of our strategic growth." . |
