Greetings, Following a safety review, the Commission on Human Medicines' (CHM) Expert Working Group on coronavirus has concluded that there is currently insufficient evidence to establish a link between ibuprofen use and contracting or worsening of Covid-19. Patients can therefore take ibuprofen or paracetamol when self-medicating for Covid-19 symptoms such as fever and headache. The CHM statement can be accessed here. Chief scientist Professor Gino Martini said: "Ibuprofen is a well-established medicine with a good safety profile that has been used as a self-care fever and pain reducer for more than 30 years. We will of course be reviewing and looking out for any new evidence that is published and letting pharmacists and their teams know if things change."
